The Technical Information Centre
The importance of standards for industrial development and technology transfer is immense. Therefore, there is a need to establish an efficient standards information services and a reservoir of standards relevant to the economy of the country.
SQCA has established a basic technical information center which would be a valuable source that collects, identifies and disseminates information on standards and standards – related documents, not only for our respective national standards bodies and users but for other information centers worldwide.
The objective of the TIC is to:
Provide a means of disseminating information on standards and standard related matters, both nationally and internationally.
Presently, the TIC consists of the following documents.
National Standards
Indian Standards
Reference books
Product catalogues
Text books
WTO legal texts.
In the future, TIC would also obtain copies of relevant ISO standards and relevant standards from other standardizing bodies around the world.
