This is for kind information of all concerned that Standards & Quality Control Authority (SQCA) under the Ministry of Works & Human Settlement now issues “Certificate of Approval” apart from publishing the list for the approved construction material brands w. e. f June 2006 to strengthen the present procedures for the approval of construction materials. This has been approved by the Ministry and is in line with the directives of the GG Plus Document to adopt a system of certification of quality of goods.
Therefore, companies seeking approval of their product brands shall now be required to submit a duly filled application form. The application form can be obtained from SQCA Office or downloaded from SQCA Website.
The fee structure for the certification system is as given below:
Application Form: Nu. 10/- (for hard copy), free if downloaded online from the SQCA internet website
Certification Fee: Nu. 1,000/- (One thousand) only per material brand
Consequently, the users should also require the suppliers/manufacturers to furnish the certificate of approval while using the construction materials at their sites.
